This school has an unusual dormer that appears to have been placed on the end of the building as a support for the chimney. Built in 1899 it the town's first large school. More information about the school can be found at http://www.parl.ns.ca/westvillehistory/schools.asp.

This card is addressed to Miss Tena Langille of West River Station, NS, and interestingly, is from her "Friend Tena". It reads "Dear Friend, Rec your card and was sorry you did not get to see us when you were so near. How is Mr. Wilson is he as hard on the old maids as ever. We have Christy down with us. May write soon. Love to all from Tena. Box 814."
